Video: IDE - Sound The Horns (Prod. Lucky Loopiano) Official Music Video

Here it is! My latest music video project with recording artist and founder of Creative Juices Music IDE. "Sound The Horns" is the first single off his anticipated LP "Breathe Easy" set to be released in 2016.  I was fortunate enough to hear a couple of cuts off the project and they sound exactly how I imagined them. Hard hitting drums and chops produced by Lucky Loopiano and complex rhymes accompanied by ill deliveries from IDE.  I've always been a fan of IDE and the labels music, and the label has always been supportive of Element Tree.  Expect to see more from us collaboratively in the near future.  For now enjoy the video and get a taste of what's to come.

Much love and respect to the hard working squad of creative goons that came together to make this happen.  IDE, Lucky Loopiano, Alucard, Jise One, Jesus Himself, Kenneth Shumaker, Aquiles Torres and last but certainly not least.. Anthony Beckner of The Bridge Skatepark in Bayonne New Jersey, who literally was the missing link and was able to house our production the night before he had to close his Skatepark due to the landlord selling the property.  I don't forget things like that and you're a G for rocking out with us. Infinite salutes to all.... great work. -Serringe

EVENT: WP Gallery Presents: DISTORT "The Crusades" (Opens Nov. 7th 2015)

"Similar to the time of the European Renaissance, we live in an age where wealth and prosperity are syphoned from areas of the globe and consolidated in others, leaving behind great despair.  For those of us fortunate enough to live in a relatively safe and stable environment, the prevalence of violence and chaos in the world surrounding us can induce a constant stress.  To know that your comfort is at the expense of people elsewhere (and even the planet itself) indicates that your position is unsustainable and likely to be threatened by what the future may bring.  In today’s tumultuous world, it would be strange not to have a pit in your stomach.  Instead of suppressing this feeling, imagine that pit as an actual place that expands in space beyond your physical presence.   Exploring this space, you become more aware of your context in the story of time.  As humans, we evolved to adapt to the land that we inhabit, in a sense defining our every inner urge . Even the laws of many religions are tied to the land, rooted in agricultural significance and developed to help mankind reap the potential bounty of the earth and avoid it’s perils.  Eventually these religions took on a territorial element of their own and we see war being waged on their behalf throughout history. As the decedents of war, this connection between land and spirituality is imbedded in our identity.  In other words, we may inhabit space, but space also inhabits us.  -DISTORT
I've been watching this show develop for quite sometime now and I must say that Distort absolutely killed it.  I personally am recommending that everyone makes it out to witness what he's put together. It's a solid show... be there. Doors open at 7pm.  -Serringe

Video: IDE & Lucky Loopiano "Sound The Horns" (Video Trailer)

I recently collaborated with Ide and the creative team over at to produce this video for "Sound The Horns" off Ide's "Breathe Easy" LP set to be released in 2016. The team consisted of Ide, Lucky Loopiano, Jise, Alucard, Jesus Himself, Time Bomb, Ske and myself. The fellas and I sat round table style coming up with ideas that we can produce based on budgets and what was available to us and in the end wound up creating something that is aggressive and a complete art piece. I am proud to have worked with all of these goons and look forward to presenting it to all of you real soon. Salutes to the homies and stay tuned. -Serringe

Music Video: Gangrene "Driving Gloves" Feat. Action Bronson

Loving this project right here! Gangrene is putting out music that has no boundaries and you can hear it in this song and this video. This is a great follow up to the first album especially that it has the same vibe but sound nothing alike. Props to all these gents.... give us more. Salute. -Serringe

Tuesday, August 18, 2015

This video is long overdue based on some computer issues I was experiencing, but all is well now and here it is. Shout out to Acet for coming through and humbly painting some tough letters with style.  Acet has been killing it for years and was the first female I wanted to shoot when I started Element Tree. Many female writers tend to add a female touch to there pieces almost making it instantly visible that a female painted it, but not Acet. Watch this video and I think my point will come across.

On another note this was my last shoot at The Bridge Skate Park which will be relocating due to the owner selling the property. Its a temporary thing as the good homie Anthony is working on a new space to continue his mission to provide an awesome environment for skaters to get it in.

 Much love and respect. -Serringe

Video: WP Gallery Presents: DISTORT "The Crusades" (Nov 7th 2015)

Here you go everyone! The first of 3 videos to come for Distort's latest solo show  "The Crusades." I've been watching his work develop for the past few months and I must say that it is some top notch next level art. His approach to fine arts and graffiti are like nothing I've ever seen before. Everything has a meaning and every image in many ways is a part of his life, inspirations and a reflection of the world we live in today. I will confidently say that I believe Distort is one of a kind and on his way to be one of the greatest artists of our time. I highly recommend this show to everyone and hope to see all of you there.

Also I'd like to give all the props in the world to Evan over at WP Gallery for his support for artists like Distort, Ntel, Mr Mustart and Clarence Rich. He's been introducing these guys work along with many others and taking the risks needed to make shows like "The Crusades" happen. I salute him and everything he's done for the artists I support.

Coming Soon! Doc Reevez "Problematic" Prod by 2 Hungry Bros

For what feels like the passed year I've been avoiding hearing any cuts from this project. Doc Reevez and Ben Boogz have been offering me opportunities to give em a listen and I've refused every time. I figured Ill just wait till it drops and hear it when everyone one else does. This way I can experience the project in full effect. It was tough but now here comes the goodies.

This Problematic sneak peak into "Recipe For Disaster" sounds bananas! I cant wait to hear this collabo. As many of you know 2 Hungry Bros have quite the distinctive sound. In past projects you can here how their production draws out new flows and ideas from an artist. This had me wondering
how Doc Reevez may have connected to the music, but now hearing Problematic its exactly what I imagined. Raw concepts and lyrics accompanied by wild deliveries and vocal fluctuations.... amazing. Cant wait to hear the rest.

Doc Reevez & 2 Hungry Bros " Recipe For Disaster " LP drops August 4th on Already Dead Tapes

Salutes to Doc Reevez, Ben Boogz and Deep... you guys kill it.

SNOWSTORM Volume:1 The Art and Life of Carmelo "Snow" Sigona
As a kid first discovering graffiti in the late 80's and early 90's there were only two writers that caught my attention and introduced me to the possibilities of spray paint through art that popped up over night... Snow was one of them. I once had the opportunity to hang out with Snow in his home/dojo and based on my experience I can imagine what's in this book. Snow is a genius not just with paint but with words and overall philosophy. I have a huge respect for him and his history and that's why I believe we should all have this book in our knowledge libraries. Its because of Snow that I just don't jump to cutting your head off like I used to.... Now I let you know I have Hanzō sword on my person... The rest is up to you. Salutes to my big brother Snow!

The inspirations and struggles of the infamous New Jersey graffiti artist Snow. This volume showcases some of Snow's earliest works, his brushes with the law, his travels, and his humble beginnings as a professional artist. Catch a glimpse of some of his rare and never-before-seen images!

Check out Peace and Respect. -Serringe

Video: Cannibal Ox - "Harlem Knights"

Kaboom! First of all till this very day Cannibal Ox's The Cold Vein stands as one of the most original and ground breaking hip hop releases of all time... In my opinion of course. Since then I've been waiting for the follow up thinking... damn that Cold Vein album is going to be hard to match, but then  Blade of the Ronin drops and I immediately thought wow these guys did it. A solid follow up that can almost give you chills during your first listen. So to all my hip hop heads, if you haven't picked up Blade of The Ronin.... do that now.

Now lets talk Harlem Knights. Not only is this song amazing but this video is about as simple as they come except it works perfectly based on the title of the song. Watch this video to get a feel for a night out in Harlem and just the overall New York vibe at night. As a videographer myself I enjoyed the visual marriage with the music... straight up solid.

Show these killas some love, push play and get your download on. Peace and Respect. -Serringe

Element Tree Presents: ROCKIN IT SUCKAS 2015 (Bridgeport, CT)

A few months ago I was lucky enough to document this awesome event in R.I.S. Crew history out in Bridgeport, CT. I found myself pulling up to a Wendy's parking lot confused on where exactly these guys were going to be painting. Eventually I made a phone call and got brought to an empty hidden parking lot which revealed the massive wall that writers Mone, Giz, Detox, Kite, Miro, Ket and Cro seemed eager to get there hands on. Watching these guys rock some black books and pieces was something else. I played the cut quietly just listening to awesome stories of the golden years while watching some vets of the game producing pieces that can keep up with the modern graffiti world via some classic and timeless styles. Ket had even mentioned to me that him and Miro hadn't painted together since 1988 so I was happy to have documented that history. The results speak for themselves. Enjoy. -Serringe

Video: Portrait of a Brooklyn Hustler: Jazzsoon

I stumbled upon this awesome video featuring the one and only Jazzsoon. I've personally met this multi talented, energetic and just overall one of a kind character that is Jazzsoon and this video represents him well. Check him out and definitely check out those beats.... dudes a killa. -Serringe

Info: The portrait of Jazzsoon: Collector. Hustler. Brooklyn Native. Living for the weekends. ‘Jazzsoon’ is a short about a Brooklyn hustler who lives for the wknds. Artist and filmmaker Ivan Cash met with a Brooklyn resident named Jazzsoon and found him to be a character so fascinating the made him the subject of his own documentary short,“Jazzsoon: Portrait of a Brooklyn Hustler.” Jazzsoon is a Park Slope “hustler” who proselytizes his notion of “living life on the weekends.” You gotta live your life on the weekends, you know what I’m sayin’? Fuckin’ steak and shrimp on the weekends, you know what I’m sayin’?

Interview: TERRIBLE T-KID 170

E.T. Pioneers in anything tend to be the ones to benefit least from their contributions in creating it. This seems to be the case in all genres of music, art and pretty much anything that requires creativity and stepping outside the box. I personally recognize you as a legend and a major contributor to graffiti history and culture. If you could go back and approach something within your career different what would  it be? Also what can graffiti culture do for our pioneers... how can we give back to our teachers?

T-KID When it comes to pioneers not benefiting I kind of agree and disagree. When the smoke clears and it's all said and done. Culture has a way of finding its origins, and the simple knowledge of where it came from or from who it came from is an asset that can't be measured in a monetary sense.  I wouldn't approach anything differently in my graffiti career.
All that transpired was necessary to make me the person I am today, and
today you guys tell me that I'm a legend in this culture. The only thing this culture can do for us pioneers is recognize us. understand and appreciate what we've done and why we did it. What can be given to us pioneers today you ask? Is to do what they did in days gone bye. Let the future know who we were, what we did and  why we did it. Never forget where this all came from.

E.T. As a youngster a writer can be heartless when it comes to bombing and I'm sure in your bombing prime you were about as heartless as they make em. lol. As a grown man living
in 2015 how do you feel about bombing?  Do you view it differently or do you still feel the same about it?

T-KID Someone told me rebellion is a young man's game. A good rebel is as heartless as they come and yes that was me  in years past.  And because of that I have no opinion on how a young rebel in today's world chooses to express him or herself. Those who practice the art of Graffiti do what they have to do and do it as much as they need to do it. We all went through a right of passage to find our talent. Some have no talent and just stick with the destructive nature till they out grow it, where others discover that expression is more then just putting a name up on a wall. To really appreciate this question we have to understand human nature and the effect society has on a young person growing up in this world today.

E.T. The word "TOY" is used to describe a less experienced writer or a straight up cornball that doesn't know anything about the unwritten laws of graffiti. Can you enlighten some of these lost souls and list the rules that T-Kid lives by? I'm pretty sure you can save a few young lives out here. lol.

T-KID "Funny" Real simple.. a Toy is some one who has no knowledge of this art. Has no understanding of who`s who and what`s what. Someone who didn't go through that right of passage. They do this to capitalize on our blood sweat and tears. They pop up out of nowhere with a degree in art, paint a pretty picture and say "hey! I`m a writer" They copy what we did and call it their own! "Biting." Its sad cause the market is saturated with them.. you know who they are.. They call themselves "street artists". Go down to  down to the Wynwood Walls during Art Basel in Florida.
You`ll see them all there from all over the world. Fucking travesty!

E.T. Growing up who were the writers that inspired you most and who are you inspired by today?

T-KID Phase2 The Godfather of Graffiti  PadreDos & Noc167 the nastiest writers ever to bless this art form and Tracy168 the illest genius and innovator, the true meaning of Wild Style. As it was in my beginning so shall it be to my end. These are my hero`s.

E.T. With all the companies out there engineering products specific to graffiti do you feel that legends like yourself deserve to benefit from them financially? Also have you ever thought of starting your own brands or products?

T-KID They're not my companies so they owe me nothing. I`m not a brand, I`m an artist. I live to create. I have no time for conformity.

E.T. What's T-KID up to nowadays?

T-KID I live, I laugh and I love. Getting ready to tour with my documentary! "The Nasty Terrible Tkid 170" Paint more graff and spread the words "Graffiti is art!"

E.T. Is there anything that you feel you've specifically contributed to

T-KID Yeah I gave motherfuckers style. I raised the bar and made writers get real creative. I pushed this art forward with all I have done.

E.T.At what point and time do you feel a writer reaches legendary status and how?

T-KID I have no clue, but y'all told me I was one so I`ll share my experience on that. You do your right of passage. You never rat on anyone. You become the best you can be. You learn respect for your fore fathers and appreciate the lessons that they taught you. Either direct or indirect. You take what you learned and pass it on. The way I pass it on is by doing it over and over till this very day. You stay true to self and to this art.

E.T.What can we expect from T-kid in the near future?

T-KID A New book is in the works stay tuned for that also more shows,,

T-KID Graffiti is the well spring where all art came from, Graffiti is pure expression, the soul element of all art. Last but not least.. "Don`t be a toy and buy art from these posers. Learn our history and our culture. Appreciate the real Graffiti artists... the true STREET ARTISTs who gave
you this culture"
