ELEMENT TREE x ART PRIMO Present: "One For The Road" Feat. THEN ONE
I got to link up with my good friend THEN ONE a couple of weeks ago to catch up and kick it and this lead to a session. I cant lie its been a minute as I've been laying low and building towards new goals and opportunities, but when Thenski came into town we both kind of knew this had to happen.
That being said... shout out to THEN ONE for coming through and blessing the Yard Work wall with that crispy style and for always being a solid dude. Also major shout out as always to our supporters ART PRIMO Much love and respect. -Serringe

ELEMENT TREE Presents: COUNTER
I was able to catch up with my good friend Villainous New York about his brand, vision and most recent business venture "COUNTER." For all of you that are familiar with Gus you know he's always brainstorming and cooking up some new way of going left while everyone goes right and being that I live my life the same way it was only right for me to go pick his brain. Off camera we discussed current politics and the ups and downs of being a hustler that's constantly moving and shaking. I respect Gus' passion for what he does and would like to wish him the best of luck with his current vision. Look him up and make an appointment. Peace and Respect. -SERRINGE

Video: Ewok & Mr. Wany
EWOK and MR WANY left the cold of the northern hemisphere to visit the East Coast of Australia in the steaming Summer month of January earlier this year. The two got straight into the heavy-duty stuff – bouncing from wall to wall making jaws drop and eyeballs pop from the northside of Brisbane to 567 King in Newtown, Sydney. Peep cameos from other Ironlak Fam and friends in the mix.

Video: TASTE (Molotow)
Check out this awesome video by Molotow featuring TASTE.... awesome.
Taste, a classically trained artist hailing from the urbane environment of Denver, rose from the fold of acceptably applied art in the last decade to become one of mid-Americas most dedicated graffiti writers. A frequent traveler of the U.S. and other countries, Taste brings an aggressive and old school style witha new age approach to the craft and continues setting bars for a new generation of graffiti culture. Highly active in both graffiti and hip-hop communities around the country, Taste's crews span from coast to coast consisting of some of graffitis most notable contributers. Presently a freelance artist, Taste works with a variety of clients from Japanese candy companies to American residential art installations. He stays versatile and although comfortably working with most mediums is known for finesse with spray paint. With a commercial painters background, taste continues to stay large in scale and constantly evolves with the pace of graffiti.

Interview: California Dreaming with BATES
ET: What was the spark that set you off to begin your journey as BATES?
BATES: I HAD A FEW NAMES BEFORE I STARTED TO WRITE BATES IN 1986. WHEN I FIRST TRAVELED TO SWEDEN THEN SPAIN IN 1987, SEEING OTHER STYLES AND SCENES, YOU WANTED TO BOMB, GET UP AND START MAKING A NAME FOR YOURSELF
ET: At what point in time did you decide that this was going to become something you would focus on and turn into a career?
BATES: WAY TOO LATE, I JUST LOVED TO TRAVEL AND WRITE MY NAME. MY PASSION IS I LIKE TO BE CREATIVE. PEOPLE SAID I SHOULD TRY TO MAKE IT MY CAREER. MY MOTHER WANTED ME TO MAKE MY STUFF ON CANVAS AND HAVE SUCCESS. I FEEL LIKE I OWE HER TO TRY AND THAT'S WHAT I DO NOW!
ET: Was there ever a moment where you realized that you were making the right moves and your art career started to become a reality?
BATES: YES, SOME OF THE FIRST SALES MADE ME REALIZE PEOPLE APPRECIATED AND LOVED WHAT I DID. ALSO SEEING MY FIRST SOLD CANVAS FROM 1987 REALLY MADE ME THINK THAT I NEEDED TO PUT MY ARTWORK ON CANVAS BUT I DO FEEL NEW IN THE ART WORLD. HAVING A NAME IN THE UNDERGROUND DOESN'T MEAN MUCH IN GALLERIES.
ET: I've noticed your fine arts are completely based and rooted in solid and classic graffiti. What can you tell us about your approach to fine arts?
BATES: I NEVER TOOK A DRAWING LESSON OR HAD ANY ART EDUCATION. I LEARNED FROM PAINTING WITH OTHER WRITERS AROUND THE WORLD. I BELIEVE IN MY ART FORM AND I WANT TO DO THE SAME THING I'VE KNOWN IN THE STREETS, ONLY THING THAT HAS CHANGED IS THE MEDIUM AND SURFACE.
ET: Lets talk "California Dreaming" and your first U.S. gallery exhibition. How did this come about and what can people expect?
BATES: I CAN THANK RISK WC MSK FOR BELIEVING IN ME AND GIVING ME THE OPPORTUNITIES TO SHOWCASE WHATEVER I WANTED. I BASICALLY HAVE FREE HANDS! RISK IS PART OWNER OF BUCKSHOT GALLERY, AND I'VE KNOWN HIM SINCE 1989, SO THAT'S HOW IT WENT ABOUT. PEOPLE CAN EXPECT SOME CLASSIC THINGS, EXPERIMENTS AND A NEW DIRECTION OF NEW 2016 ARTWORK ON DISPLAY IN SANTA MONICA, LOS ANGELES, AND BUCKSHOT GALLERY AT PICO BLVD.
ET: What's next for the Great Bates?
BATES: GET MORE INTO FINE LIMITED PRINTS, MORE SHOWS AND TRAVEL
ET: If there was a moment where the entire graffiti culture was listening… what would you say? I ask this question all the time. Do you have any wise words to a younger generation of writers?
BATES: KNOW YOUR CRAFT. LEARN THE HISTORY AND STUDY THE STYLE MASTERS FROM NYC, MAYBE GET AN OLDER MENTOR WHO CAN SCHOOL YOU.
ET: Thank you for your time and best of luck with California Dreaming. The show pops off tonight so if you're out in Santa Monica... you now officially have something to do tonight. Enjoy.

ELEMENT TREE Presents: IMOK Crew
Shout out to the good homies from IMOK Crew for allowing me to shoot and document this event of complete butteriness. The results were some classic styles from Sekt, Jick and Risk9, an awesome and artistic visual middle finger for the scumbag we all know as Donald Trump and an awesome CBGB inspired burner. To say the least we had some good laughs and the homies burned it down.

GANE x TEXAS
When it comes to rollers with style... Gane and Texas have it on lock. Though since they came out swinging many have tried to produce comparable work but these two hold it down. They continue to paint some primetime spots and the scale of work just keeps getting bigger and bigger. In this latest episode of EARTHLING we hit the streets of New York to catch up with Mast of TGE, GFR and IMOK crews. Much love and respect to MAST for his time and all around good company.
Also much love and respect to our sponsors Art Primo which you should get at for all your graffiti/art supply needs and also check out Eggshell Stickers for slaps that stay up longer than just about any other sticker out there.
